Management Ebooks: "Doing Business in the New Latin America: Keys to Profit in America's Next-Door Markets"

Unlike the "old" Latin America, today's Latin America is both readily accessible to smaller North American companies and is being transformed into a bustling bu
siness environment. However, for those without a native, in-depth understanding of the emerging changes within today's Latin American marketplace and a grasp of the cultural implications at hand, doing business in Latin America can still be challenging for smaller U.S. exporters and importers.

Doing Business in the New Latin America: Keys to Profit in America's Next-Door Markets, Second Edition serves as an insider's travel guide and trader's manual fo
r understanding the region's market environment and best export sales opportunities in each of its countries. It lays the groundwork for finding and developing ideal prospects while avoiding pitfalls and foreigners' faux pas. Part I familiarizes readers with Latin America in general, profiling its nations from a business perspective; Part II explains how Latin American business attitudes developed from a historical perspective. The third section of the text focuses on the all-important art of making—and keeping—the deal.

Management Ebooks: "The Little Big Things: 163 Ways to Pursue EXCELLENCE"

There is little doubt that no one, with the exception of Peter Drucker, has had more influence in shaping the idea of modern management than Tom Peters. Peters still has the same vigor and enthusiasm he had when the classic "In Search of Excellence" was published in 1982. Unlike so many dry, boring books on business, Tom Peters has a compelling, in-your-face style that makes this book as fun to read as it is insightful. An enemy of conformist 'suits', mindless mega-mergers, and the status quo, Peters urges readers to embrace diversity, cherish weirdness, and manage by turning off the computer and hitting the streets.

This is one of those rare business books that is as essential for the small business owner or freelancer as it is for the head of a major corporation. Beginning with a fiery call-to-arms to companies and businesspeople to get 'back to basics', this book is the guidebook on how to excel at the people side of business and a reminder to 'never forget why you're here'. Some examples of Tom's timeless wisdom include: Love Your Competitors; Leave Your Wallet at Home; Appoint an Ombudsman for Common Sense; and, Cut Red Tape. Now more than ever, businesspeople need a voice of experience and wisdom to guide us through this time of financial uncertainty. Tom Peters is - as he always has been - just that voice.

Management Ebooks: "Enchantment: The Art of Changing Hearts, Minds, and Action"

Apple's former chief evangelist leads businessfolk down the path to enchantment.

The entrepreneur's entrepreneur is back with his 10th book, this time tackling the tricky art of influence and persuasion. Kawasaki (Reality Check: The Irreverent Guide to Out
smarting, Outmanaging and Outmarketing Your Competition, 2011, etc.) transforms the otherwise exhausted and overwrought tropes of how to win friends and influence people with a complete makeover here, whether he's talking about wardrobe choice or tips for effective swearing.

The author, a modern-day Dale Carnegie, offers explanations on how to wield the most influence in the digital age: Push Technologies like presentations, e-mails and Twitter are discussed as active means of enchanting others, while Pull Technologies like Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn passively draw them in. The author's suggestions for achieving likeability and trustworthiness, as well as overcoming resistance, are thoroughly explained and can easily translate from the workplace to the real world.

Kawasaki makes good use of subheads and bullet points, rendering informatio
n in a searchable format. He ends each chapter with an anecdote that illuminates the effectiveness of his techniques—while it's not original, it's effective. The author's trademark light and airy style is on display, but it's his humor and empathy that makes the heavy use of BusinessSpeak and buzzwords more easily palatable.

Informative, concise guide from one of America's most influential and, yes, enchanting entrepreneurs.

Marketing Ebooks: "Advertising and Promotion"

Advertising and Promotion: An Integrated Marketing Communications Perspective, 6/e, by Belch and Belch, is the number one text in the Advertising market. As the field of advertising and promotion continues to dramatically change since the dominant days of high-powered Madison Avenue agencies, marketers must look beyond traditional media in order to achieve success. The text underscores the importance of recognizing that a firm must use all promotional tools available to convey a unified message to the consumer. The integrated marketing communications perspective, (the theme of the text), catapults the reader into the business practices of the 21st century.
